Network security for Northwest Indiana businesses

Your network is the road every piece of your business data travels. We harden it: business-grade firewalls, properly secured Wi-Fi, and a clean separation between what guests, staff, and systems can reach. This is the technical layer of security, done correctly.

Network security is the hardening of your physical and wireless network: firewall configuration, secure Wi-Fi, network segmentation, and closing the openings that let an intruder move through your systems. SIGIL assesses and hardens networks for Northwest Indiana businesses on-site, since this work cannot be done well from a distance. Many shops are still running the setup an internet installer left behind years ago.

What You Get

Why businesses invest in network security

A real firewall, configured

A business-grade firewall with rules actually tailored to you, not a consumer router with factory settings.

Wi-Fi without side doors

Strong encryption, current settings, and separate guest access so a visitor's phone never touches your business systems.

Segmentation limits damage

Cameras, card readers, and office computers live on separate segments, so one compromised device cannot reach everything.

No forgotten openings

Old port forwards, default passwords, and unused accounts on network gear are the quiet holes we find and close.

How It Works

Our process

01

On-site assessment

We inspect your actual equipment, wiring, and wireless coverage, and map what talks to what.

02

Harden

Firewall rules, Wi-Fi security, segmentation, and firmware updates get implemented with minimal disruption to your workday.

03

Document and verify

You get a plain-language map of your network and verification that the closed holes stay closed.

Why SIGIL

A local partner, not a vendor

  • Network work needs boots on-site, and ours are already in Northwest Indiana.
  • Veteran-owned attention to detail, which is most of what good network security actually is.
  • Consulting-first: we reuse equipment that is still serviceable instead of selling you replacements.
  • The documentation we leave behind means you are never dependent on whoever set it up.

FAQs

Network Security questions, answered

01What does network security work cost?

The assessment is a fixed-price project quoted in writing, and any hardening work is quoted separately once we know what your network needs. If new equipment is warranted we present options at different price points with plain reasoning. Nothing is purchased without your sign-off.

02Our internet provider installed our router. Is that enough?

Provider equipment is built to deliver internet, not to defend a business. Default settings, shared passwords, and no segmentation are the common state we find. An assessment will show you specifically what your current setup does and does not protect against.

03Will this work disrupt our business day?

Most changes are staged to minimize interruption, and anything requiring downtime is scheduled around your hours, including evenings. We tell you in advance exactly what will blink and when. Surprise outages are a planning failure, and we plan.

04Do we need this if we already bought your cybersecurity program?

The two cover different ground. The cybersecurity program handles people, email, accounts, and policy; this service hardens the physical and wireless network itself. If we run both, the network assessment folds into the overall risk review so you never pay twice for the same look.
